What Is Sic Bo?

Sic Bo is a table game that’s played with dice. Most table games are played with playing cards but this is one of two games that are actually played with dice instead. It’s a game that has been around for a very long time. In fact, it’s ancient compared to other table games, like Roulette, which was only invented in the 18th century.

Sic Bo looks complicated when you first open it but it’s actually a really basic game. It just has a lot of different bets that you can make – but the game itself is as simple as can be. Sic Bo is played with three dice. All three dice are six-sided and the sides are numbered from 1 to 6. Every round, players can place their bets before the dice are rolled.

Essentially, to play the game, you bet on how you think the dice will land. You predict the outcome of the roll and, if you predict correctly, you will get a payout! Each bet has its own payout and the payouts depend on how likely it is that that particular outcome will occur.

Novomatic Sic Bo Design

Sic Bo by Novomatic is sleek in design! You’ll love this online version of Sic Bo. The colour scheme is red and cream and black. The green chips stand out from the board very nicely, so you can see your bets clearly. The font is oriental-style which makes the game feel original and different. All of the chips are the same colour and the amount that they’re worth is written on the individual chips.

Once you place a bet, you will see it on the board and when you place a big bet, you’ll see them stacked up – which adds a nice touch. Another lovely thing about the design of Sic Bo from Novomatic is that you can actually see the dice roll!

In other versions of this game from other developers, you only see the outcomes of the dice. However, in Novomatic’s Sic Bo, you can see the dice roll and land – as if you’re playing with real dice. This can help add a ‘realistic’ element to the game when you’re playing on your phone or tablet or computer. All of the settings are at the top of the game, and this is where you’ll also find the help button. Pressing this will open a pop-up window with all of the rules of the game.

Bets and Wins in Novomatic Sic Bo

At the bottom, you can bet on individual numbers. You can bet on one or all six, it’s your choice. But don’t forget that a maximum of three number can come up on any round!

These bets pay 1:1 if the number you bet on appears on one die, 2:1 if the number appears on two dice and 15:1 if the number appears on all three dice.

Above these, you’ll find the ‘Two Dice’ bets. Here you can bet on the specific outcome of two dice. For example, if two out of the three dice will show a 1 and 5 or a 2 and a 6 or a 4 and a 6. These types of bets pay 6:1. On the top half of the board, you can make bets on the total of all three dice (between 4 and 17).

The odds depend on the total you bet on, for instance a total of 12 pays 7:1 and a total of 17 pays 69:1

At the top, you can make a ‘Small’ bet (total will be between 4 and 10) or a ‘Big’ bet (total will be between 11 and 17). Small and Big bets pay 1:1 but they don’t pay when the dice land on triple (all three show the same number).

You can, however, bet on any triple appearing (i.e. all three dice showing 2). Triple bets pay 34:1. The last bet you can make in Novomatic Sic Bo is double bets. You bet on two of the three dice showing the same number and these types of bet pay 12:1. They aren’t featured in the ‘Two Dice’ bet section.
